Greek: G5565
Note: This word is only in the Greek Interlinear, for Greek students learning to recognize the literal grammatical form. It does not appear this way in the MLV Bible text itself. The MLV (like most translations) generally avoids the progressive ("-ing") tense in favor of the way English normally states things. Consider "I am divorcing my spouse" (progressive -- implies an active, ongoing legal process, like having a lawyer or a court date) versus "Whoever divorces..." (a general statement or warning, not a description of an ongoing event) versus "I am divorced" (the completed result of "I am divorcing," not the same claim as "I divorce"). Context decides which one is true to the original -- the Interlinear shows you the raw grammatical shape; the Bible text shows you the meaning in real English.
